Overview

Liberia is the perfect destination for Mission work and Study Tour.  Liberia is the first and only African nation started by US free slaves in 1821.  It’s the only country in the world where the Declaration of Independence was signed in a church, The Historic (1821) Providence Baptist Church on July 26, 1847.  Lott Carey, a free slave, served as the first missionary and Pastor of Providence Baptist Church.  Liberia’s  first President, Joseph Jenkins Roberts, originated from Lynchburg, Virginia; 12 of 16 Liberia’s first Presidents were born in the US.  Much work has been done to advance mission outreach, a safe-haven for people of Negro Descend, the liberation of Africa and community-building.

For 168 years (1821-1989), Mission Work played a pivotal role in the independence, pyscho-socio-economical-political and spiritual growth  of Liberia and West Africa.

Since 1989, post-war/conflict Liberia has created gaps, disconnect, post traumatic stress, survival mode, Ebola epidemic, proliferation of churches, economic depression, brain drain, miseducation, strategic innovation stagnation, corruption, tribalism, unsustainable projects; yet an eager, youthful population (78% of 4.3 million) presents new opportunities for learning and self-reliance.
